Plant installation for a Hotel & Spa Resort in Co. Wexford
With this installation we aimed at adding subtle touches of greenery throughout the Hotel interior and exterior restaurant areas, the entrance, the reception and the spa area.
We worked closely together with an interior designer to achieve a soft, minimalistic vibe, combining mostly green plants with black or white pots to match the furniture of every space.
To greet customers at the entrance, we placed a combination of tall and medium sized plants beside an elegant leather sofa.
In the reception area, we dotted pots of sturdy, easy going Chinese evergreens. These were reflected in the glass tables creating a beautiful mirror effect.
Elegant Peace Lilies and were placed around the tables in the indoor dining area. The dark pots accompany the dark leather of the seating benches and offer contrast against the wood. The white flowers of the pece lilies match the colour of the walls and add a touch of brightness. In the windowsills we placed boat shaped bowls with a combination of chinese evergreens and trailing philodendrons.
Artificial trailing plants were placed along the top of the suspended bar shelf. Choosing artificial plants significantly reduced the weight, thus making it safer since the suspended shelf holds mostly glassware.
In the sunniest corner of the restaurant we went for tropical jungle vibes. We installed a tall Bird of Paradise underplanted with purple tradescantia, offering a striking contrast to the green leaves. Beside it, a mix of two different kinds of Philodendrons.
We always ensure to add handy water level indicators so you can always know when to stop or start watering a plant.
The outdoor sitting area receives sun all day, and is also slightly exposed to the elements. For this reason we selected plants that like to bask in the sun and are sturdy enought to take a bit of rain and wind.
The spa area receives indirect light only, therefore we chose sturdy, non-fussy plants that can cope with lower light levels.
We dotted pots all along the shelves and amongst the beauty products for sale.
We also placed several larger pots on the floors beside the sofas, shelves and waiting areas, turning the entire room into a lush, relaxing space.
In the parts of the spa without any natural light, we installed artificial silk plants.
The same range of plants was used throughout all the spaces so as to bring cohesion to the entire installation.
