Aglaonema 'Spotted Star'
Aglaonemas are reliable, sturdy plants that come in an array of patterns and colours. The pink varieties especially make for perfect gifts, and are truly unique looking. Aglaonema 'Spotted Star' features broad leaves with pink and green splashes. Chinese evergreens certainly give you a lot of bang for your buck.
Size: 12cm diameter x 40cm height
Origin: Tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and New Guinea
Light: Indirect light, light shade
Watering: Allow the top 2-3cm of the compost to dry between waterings when the plant is actively growing, usually from spring through autumn. Reduce watering frequency in winter, when light levels are lower.
Feeding: Use half the recommended dose of a balanced liquid fertilizer every few weeks from spring through autumn.
Soil: Equal parts of soil-based compost, perlite and bark or coco fiber.
Troubleshooting: Aglaonemas can live in dappled light conditions, however as tropical plants they are very suceptible to cold temperatures and overwatering. Yellowing, droopy leaves may be a sign of too much water, while dark patches on the leaves could be chilling injuries.
Tip: This plant can be toxic if ingested, so we advise to keep it away from pets and children. Direct sunlight can leave sunburn marks on the leaves, so it is best to keep it away from direct sun.
