Philodendron 'Pink Princess'
Philodendron 'Pink Princess' has become one of the most popular and sought after varieties of Philodendron, and it's no wonder why. It features dark green leaves with splashes of pink variegation and burgundy stems. Young leaves have more of an orange hint and grow to become dark green, more heavily variegated and more heart-shaped as the plant matures.
Size: 12cm pot or 6cm pot
Light: Indirect light
Watering: Keep the compost slightly moist (but not soggy) when the plant is actively growing, usually from spring through autumn. Reduce watering frequency in winter if light levels are lower.
Feeding: Use half the recommended dose of a balanced liquid fertilizer every 6-8 during the plant's active growth period.
Soil: 2 to 1 parts of soil-based compost, orchid bark and perlite or sphagnum moss.
Tip: This plant can be toxic if ingested, so we advise to keep it away from pets and children. Direct sunlight can leave sunburn marks on the leaves. We also recommend to keep it away from drafts.
Did you know? Philodendrons are epiphytic plants, meaning they live attached to trees and not usually buried in soil. The name of this plant is therefore extremely appropriate: in Greek, 'Philo' means to like and 'dendron' means tree. Philodendron 'White wave' is a hybrid variety, meaning its a cross between two other philodendrons.
